About Peter Foster
Before moving to Tassie in 1994 Peter lived in Sydney where he worked in photography as a colour printing technician. In Launceston he studied computer science at UTAS for his honours degree and later worked in Hobart for a number of years in various IT businesses programming websites and databases.
As a hobby after retirement, Peter took up painting with acrylics at U3A in Kingston. He now paints from home. His subject matter comes from various holiday snaps collected from local and overseas trips. Peter’s paintings do not follow the style of any particular art school or movement but portrays scenes as close to the original as possible using the acrylic paint medium.
Walls at Peter’s home are covered with his artworks as well as those of his wife Gail and mother Betty. Peter’s paintings span 8 years of work and each painting brings back happy memories of places visited over the years.
